Never Look a Gift Horse in The Mouth!!!

Baby Doll is a very talented Cowgirl as you all know. She is a pastry chef and most of you have seen/tasted her wonderful bakery goods. However as if she isn't already more creative in her little toe than I could ever be...she decided to learn a new craft during her season in AZ this year and I am the very lucky recipient of the project she worked on all season!

This was staged so you all could see this wonderful work of art!

As you can see...Baby Doll used a Heineken Box to wrap my gift in...maybe a gift wrapping course would be in line for next season???

At first I thought for sure she had made me a Jackolantern...

But...look at this this gourd...Baby Doll learned to etch..and weave the pine needles at the top...and much more was done that I can't remember. She attached it to a beautiful slab of marble!!!

Baby Doll told me that she had wanted to make me something for my tack room, but there is NOFUCKINGWAY (25 cents in the cuss jar) that I would display it there. This beautiful etched gourd is going in my desert house ad I know the perfect place for it!

Thank you Baby Doll for this wonderful gift...you must love me a lot to spend so much time to make e something so beautiful!!!

Everyone's a Winner!

It is time to announce the winner of the drawing for the issues of "Cowgirl" Magazine! I really got a hoot out of some of your responses as to why it was that you wanted a copy! It was, after all a drawing but I was ever so surprised to see how far some cowgirls would go to get the cowgirl hat tipped in their favor.

There were a few who tried to play the "family" card...others tried to woo the hat by speaking of bubbles, bubbly and even a hint of a trip to bed with them! Then there was the woe is me...I never get something this wonderful to read...we only have popular mechanics in our area!

There were 16 of you requesting to have their names to be put into my cowgirl hat for the drawing to win the 2nd issue of "Cowgirl"! I was so nervous to put your names in the hat...that I was NOT able to do so! Instead...I decided that all 16 of you will get a copy of Cowgirl! It took a small amount of wrangling...but thanks to Callan at Cowgirl...you all will now get a copy!!! Callan was able to rope 16 copies for me and as soon as I get them....you will!

Cowgirl Xmas Gifts!!!

Pinky Swear!!!

When the Good time Cousins, now reinvented to be The Pony Cousins, 1st started getting together we were all over 35 years of age ( I am the 2nd youngest, hee hee) it had been years since our days of carefree growing up together...and quite frankly did not trust each other the way we did as when we were growing up. So...we devised the "Pinky Swear"! Which means...anything said at a Pony Cousin gathering was to be taken to your death...and if not, you would meet your death!!!

This year for the Pony cousin Stampede...Bronco Betsy and She Who Rides with Full Moon ( a mother, daughter team) brought these waters for all of us!

However...they are so fantastic that NONE of us ever drank them...instead have them as souvenirs of another great Pony Cousin Stampede!!!

Yes...There WILL be a Test!!!

About 2 months ago Blue Eyed Tango had a contest on her blog and the winners would receive a lovely piece of her jewelry that she makes. I am surprised that I was one of the winners because her contest was on of those...pay attention, there WILL be a test later!!! I do read fast and when I was young remember that I had the highest retention level in my class of 25. However in this busy world of multi-tasking I must admit that I am usually reading every ones daily post at night while my loving husband and I watch the "Bourne Ultimatum" for the 20th time. We would rather watch a good movie over and over than a crappy one once. So because I am a bit distracted by the noise more than anything (I do not watch the chase scenes, been there, done that) but do look at the screen during my favorite parts. I know I did not have all the correct answers and when I did not know I answered with a guess...maybe one or 2 of those answers was right?

This "test" did make me stop and think about all of your blogs that I follow and that I was being rude not to give your blog my full attention when reading and leaving comments. I know that I sometimes just say, "great picture" or "nice post" because I had been distracted and could not remember the name of the flower or your horses name!

So in winning my gorgeous necklace I made a commitment to pay more attention to what you have to say...because you may give me a test later!!! Here is a picture of my new "bling"! And it came packaged in this cute little box with a recipe inside! The Blue Eyed Tango said I could pick my necklace but I asked her to pick for me and she was right on in her choice!!!

My package arrived inside this cute little file folder with a recipe for a pie that I may make for the Pony Cousins this summer!!! I did give Blue Eyed Tango a clue in her choice for me...I am a RED girl!!!

"Iron Horse!"

A few weeks ago I posted this picture with a challenge to guess what in the world it could be???

And those of you who guessed right would have your name put in a cowgirl hat drawing to win a prize from The Desert Rose!

So.....for those of you that guessed......Horse Mane Flying in the Wind! Your name goes into the hat.

Here is the finished piece. Almost everything is made from horse shoes. I have close ups for you to see this incredible Artwork.

There were 2 correct guesses and one admitted cheater who answered right! So as I see it I will put the 2 correct guesses and the cheater in the hat for the drawing. However the cheater will one get her name in the hat once and the non cheaters will get their name in the hat 10 times each. The odds are stacked against the cheater!

Grand Bunny's!!!

Sadly...the Desert rose will not be with her grand babies for Easter! However the Grand Bunny's were a hit!!! Toby's is brown, Jed's is gray, The Rosa Jewel and Rosette's bunny's are white!

You may remember the "HANDMADE" bridle and rein set that was given to me by a wrangler buckaroo in thanks for the TVs they received when we made replacements in our desert house. Well...here are his "own" Chapaderros" and matching knife and cell phone holder for all to see! This is his original design!
